The recent Netflix series featuring Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had a lot of explosive revelations, but one in particular stunned viewers. It involved a discussion between Harry and his brother, Prince William.
While the first part of the show chronicled the early lives of the couple and their first steps into royal life, it was the second part that provided a peek behind the scenes of the drama that unfolded between the couple and the rest of the royal family.
According to Harry, a meeting he had proposed to the three senior private secretaries to discuss their decision to step back from their royal duties was rejected. Markle, who was not present during the meeting, expressed her disappointment about not being “invited to have a seat at the table.”
In the meeting, Harry was presented with five options for his and Markle’s future with the royal family, with option three being their independence while still supporting the Queen. This decision led to a heated argument with Prince William, King Charles III, and Queen Elizabeth. Harry admitted that the incident created a divide between himself and his brother and ultimately led to William siding with the institution.
As of now, there has been no comment from William, King Charles, or the rest of the royal family regarding the series or the claims made by the couple. The rift between Harry and William still seems to persist.
Markle shared her feelings about the meeting saying, “Imagine a conversation, a roundtable discussion about the future of your life…And you…aren’t invited to have a seat at the table.” Harry explained the gravity of the situation, “The saddest part of it was this wedge created between myself and my brother so that he’s now on the institution’s side.”
