Couple adopts rescue dog before meeting him – Their reaction upon seeing him for the first time is priceless

The number of stray dogs without companions and left to fend for themselves is substantial, and every country struggles to find these souls a family and shelter. The reality is that most shelters are overcrowded and unable to accommodate more dogs, leading to euthanasia decisions.

One couple, Tracy and Scott Whyatt, made it their mission to assist these dogs and find them forever homes instead of letting them face such fate.

Their rescue efforts began in 2011, and since then, they have placed numerous dogs with loving families. It all started when they rescued dogs that were scheduled to be euthanized and transported them to places where adoption was more likely, as part of an initiative by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).

Neither Tracy nor Scott imagined that saving dogs would become their life’s work, but they find fulfillment and joy in working with these animals.

Their approach involves rescuing dogs from high-kill shelters in San Antonio, Texas, and providing them with necessary rehabilitation. Once deemed ready for adoption, they transport the dogs in their trailer, partnering with PetSmart to visit parking lots in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., and Florida, where pre-approved prospective pet owners eagerly await.

“We had previously adopted through Tracy’s Dogs and had a wonderful experience, so we wanted to adopt through them again,” remarked one man eagerly awaiting his new dog. “There are so many dogs needing homes, and we wanted to help.”

The reactions of most adopters upon seeing their new four-legged companions for the first time are touching and heartwarming. The dogs are equally excited to embark on this new chapter in their lives.
