Trump Flips Out On Key Trial Witness In Local Interview Taped Just Before Gag Order Violations Hearing
Former President Donald Trump went off on former fixer and key trial witness Michael Cohen in a local news interview taped just before a hearing on multiple gag order violations, but aired hours after it ended.
There were fireworks Tuesday in the Stormy Daniels hush money-election interference trial as Judge Juan Merchan held a hearing on Trump’s gag order violations before former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker resumed his testimony. Things got heated.
A key aspect of those violations has been Trump’s repeated attacks on witnesses like Cohen — which Trump did in an interview with Walter Perez of Philadelphia’s WPVI 6ABC that was taped just before the hearing but aired Tuesday night:
WALTER PEREZ: Now, I’d like to shift to the trial, if we could, for one second. Where is your concern level at this point regarding David Pecker’s testimony and Michael Cohen’s testimony?
DONALD TRUMP: Well, Michael Cohen is a convicted liar and he’s got no credibility whatsoever. He was a lawyer and you rely on your lawyers.
But Michael Cohen was a convicted liar. He was a lawyer for many people, not just me. And he got in trouble because of things outside of what he did for me, largely, it was essentially all because what he did in terms of campaign, I don’t think there was anything wrong with that with the charges that they made.
But what he did is he did some pretty bad things, I guess, with banking or whatever. But that was a personal thing to him.
David Pecker, I don’t know exactly what he’s going to be testifying against, but. Or about. But he’ll be testifying today. If you look at Andy McCarthy, if you look at Jonathan Turley, if you look at everybody, they wrote articles today and yesterday. They heard everything about the case. They said, there is no case. There is no case.
