In a perplexing incident, law enforcement authorities in Philadelphia arrested two Georgia residents for alleged methamphetamine distribution. An off-duty deputy sheriff observed what he suspected was a large drug transaction at around 5 p.m., which led Philadelphia Police to execute a traffic stop on the vehicle, according to Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark. The investigation led officers to Room 130 at the Econo Lodge Inn & Suites, where they obtained a search warrant and discovered a stash of drugs, cash, and a pickup truck.
Clark said in a release, “Officers obtained a search warrant and seized more than a pound of methamphetamine, about ½ pound of marijuana, $36,400 in cash, and a 2019 Ford F450 pickup truck.”
The suspects, Jermie A. Tank and Angela G. Bryan, both from Georgia, were charged with aggravated trafficking of a controlled substance and are being held in the Neshoba County Detention Center, awaiting an initial court appearance. If convicted, they could face not less than 25 years without eligibility for parole and fines ranging from $5,000 to $1 million.
