Startled news, Queen Consort Camilla, spouse of King Charles III, has been tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, reported by Fox News Digital.
A statement from Buckingham Palace conveyed that the Queen Consort had been feeling unwell and suffering from symptoms of a cold, after which she was tested positive for the virus. Buckingham Palace further stated that she has regretfully canceled all of her public engagements for this week, sending her sincere apologies to those who were scheduled to attend.
It is not yet clear whether King Charles III is also experiencing symptoms of the virus.
Remarkably, Camilla had tested positive for COVID-19 a year ago, in February 2022.
“At present, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall has tested positive for COVID-19 and is self-isolating. We continue to follow government guidelines,” Clarence House had declared in a statement at that time.
Interestingly, Camilla was found positive for the virus shortly after Prince Charles had also tested positive for coronavirus. Though, it was reported that Camilla had received the vaccine multiple times.
Following her illness, Camilla’s symptoms persisted for weeks, according to her statement at an International Women’s Day event in 2022, as reported by Hello magazine.
“It’s taken three weeks, and still can’t get shot of it,” said Camilla. “Probably my voice might suddenly go, and I might start coughing and spluttering.”
Queen Consort Camilla was due to appear alongside King Charles III this week in Milton Keynes, but all her engagements have now been canceled. King Charles III has previously tested positive for COVID twice, once in March 2020, and again in February 2022.
