Baby With Red Birthmark Called ‘Hideous’ And ‘Defective’, But Look At This Beautiful Kid Now
Every newborn baby is uniquely beautiful in their own way.
In 2018, Angelica was born to delighted parents and siblings. Her heart-shaped port wine stain added to her already striking features. Sadly, not everyone saw the beauty in her distinctive birthmark.
Angelica’s mother shared that while her daughter is dearly loved and accepted by their family, some others feel entitled to judge her appearance.
“Someone even asked if she had pressed her face onto a hot griddle, which was one of the worst online comments I’ve ever received,” Marianna Bowering, Angelica’s mother, told the Mirror.
Marianna also mentioned that her daughter has been called “hideous” and a “defect” by some.
This negativity affected the family deeply, compounding the challenges they were already facing, but they were determined to overcome it.
Despite the hurtful remarks, Angelica’s family always encouraged her to embrace herself just as she is.
In a heartwarming gesture, Marianna painted a heart-shaped birthmark on her own face to match Angelica’s, inspired by vascular birthmark awareness day.
“When I first did the heart with my makeup, I thought, why not do Angelica’s port wine stain too,” Marianna explained, as reported by The Epoch Times.
Whenever someone tried to console Marianna by suggesting that Angelica’s mark might fade over time or could be covered with makeup when she gets older, it only deepened the mother’s concern. She wondered if her daughter would be pressured to conceal her natural beauty instead of embracing it.
It served as a stark reminder of the societal expectations placed on appearance.
Angelica has been lovingly encouraged by her family to accept and celebrate her unique qualities. Sometimes, Marianna would adorn her daughter’s port wine stain with glitter to make it sparkle.
“We’re grateful that Angelica is healthy,” Marianna affirmed, noting that children with such birthmarks may face additional health concerns like glaucoma, requiring regular check-ups.
It’s heartening to see Angelica learning to embrace and even celebrate her birthmark.
Don’t you agree that she’s a remarkable young woman?
