Keeps Secretly Visiting Soldier’s Grave, When Mom Finds Out ‘Why’ She Tracks Him Down

The loss of a child is one of life’s most profound sufferings. Parents of service members stationed overseas understandably worry about their children’s well-being on a daily basis.

Joseph Villasenor, a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force, had an unwavering devotion to his nation. This brave man served his country for 16 years before his untimely death at the age of 36. His parents, Raymond and Rachel Villasenor, were devastated.

It seemed unfathomable to them that their son was gone. The pain was overwhelming. They shared the story of their son’s unfortunate passing and the mysterious event that happened shortly after.

They were paying their respects at the Garden Park Cemetery in Arlington, Texas, when they noticed something peculiar: a trail of lush, green grass leading from their son’s tomb to the surrounding soil.

They had no way of knowing the true motivation behind it.
What they didn’t know was that their daughter had met an elderly man named Jake Reissig by chance a few months ago.

Jake was in the cemetery delivering flowers to his late wife’s grave when he came across Joseph’s grieving sister.

As he got closer, he had to ask her what was wrong.
She shared the sad news that her brother had recently passed away, leaving the entire family in mourning. Although Jake couldn’t take away their pain, he could still do something to show he cared.

He decided to bring flowers to Joseph’s grave and watered the lawn daily.
When Rachel and Raymond visited their son’s grave, they saw it covered in flowers. The sight brought them considerable comfort, yet they couldn’t figure out who was behind the kind act.

Eventually, they discovered that Jake was the one maintaining the grave marker.
They were brought to tears by Jake’s act of kindness. They were so grateful to this elderly man that they couldn’t even express it in words.

When life gets rough, it’s important to have someone show they care. Thank you, Jake; the world is a better place because of you and those like you.
