Elise Finch, a meteorologist based in New York, passed away at the age of 51.

CBS News announced this unfortunate news on July 16, 2023, stating, “It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of our beloved Elise Dione Finch Henriques.”

“Elise has been a friend and member of the WCBS team for 16 years. She joined as a weekend meteorologist in 2007 and was most recently seen on the morning news alongside Mary Calvi and Chris Wragge.” CBS News also praised Finch’s dedication, noting that “she took great pride in her work.”

Finch was honored with an Emmy Award for her meteorological contributions and had a distinguished career that included stints at Fox and E! News, among other notable organizations.

A graduate of Syracuse University with a Master of Science in Broadcast Journalism, Finch’s cause of death has not been disclosed, but according to the New York Post, she passed away after receiving medical treatment for an undisclosed illness. She is survived by her husband and child.
