Since her abdominal surgery in January, Kate Middleton had been absent from the public eye. Following the Mother’s Day photo controversy, TMZ released the first video of Middleton, showing her leaving a farmer’s market with Prince William.
The royal couple was spotted exiting the Windsor Farm Shop, and according to eyewitnesses, they appeared “happy, relaxed, and healthy” as they walked through the market without their children.
Middleton seemed to have recovered well from her surgery, as she walked alongside Prince William, both carrying bags.
Eyewitness Nelson Silva recorded the video after recognizing Prince William and Princess Kate leaving the farmer’s market. He mentioned that the royal couple seemed to be enjoying a normal day despite ongoing speculations about her health.
“I went to my car and as they came out of the shop, I just filmed them. I think they walked out through a gate out of the grounds. They just vanished, and I didn’t see a car. I just wanted to share with my family footage and show just how normal they were,” Silva said.
Some defended Middleton, noting that she was not engaging in strenuous activities as she was still recovering from her abdominal surgery.
The palace announced that Middleton would be away from her royal duties until Easter. Despite this, the public continues to create conspiracy theories about her whereabouts and health.
For Mother’s Day, a photograph of Princess Kate Middleton was posted on the official Instagram account of the Prince and Princess of Wales, featuring Middleton with her children, Princes George and Louis, and Princess Charlotte.
In the post, Princess Catherine expressed her gratitude for the well-wishes during her surgery and recovery period, noting that she had stepped back from her royal duties temporarily. The message was signed with “C,” standing for Catherine.
“Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the last two months. Wishing everyone a Happy Mother’s Day. C,” read the post.
Princess Kate Middleton was seen in public for the first time in two months following her surgery.
On March 4th, Middleton was spotted in a black SUV driven by her mother, Caroline Middleton, near Windsor Castle. Middleton wore black sunglasses and was not accompanied by her security detail.
Some people doubted the authenticity of the sightings, with comments like, “That’s not her. Nice try though,” and “It’s a wax sculpture.”
Others speculated it was her sister, Pippa Middleton, in the pictures: “Looks like Pippa, not Catherine,” and “The woman in the picture has a striking resemblance to her sister. Pippa. I don’t think it is Kate.”
There were also comments speculating about plastic surgery: “She has plastic surgery,” “Did she get a facelift?” and “Did you blur it so we couldn’t see the bandage on her nose?”
Kate Middleton’s last public appearance was on December 25, 2023, at a Christmas event at church with Prince William.
After her hospitalization, Buckingham Palace provided an update that Kate Middleton would stay in the hospital for two weeks due to a planned abdominal surgery.
“Kensington Palace made it clear in January the timelines of the princess’ recovery and we’d only be providing significant updates,” Kate’s representative said.
