Julia Roberts is known for leading a remarkably ordinary life despite her celebrity status. She has been married to cinematographer Daniel Moder for 19 years, and the couple appears deeply in love. Together, they have three children: twins Phinnaeus and Hazel, aged 16, and a son named Henry, who is 14.
When it comes to their children, both Roberts and Moder make a concerted effort to shield them from public attention. Consequently, sightings of their kids at public events are rare, and they rarely share photos on social media.
However, recently we caught a glimpse of the lovely Hazel accompanying her father at the Cannes Film Festival in France in July 2021. They attended to promote the film “Flag Day,” where Moder worked as a cinematographer under the direction of Sean Penn. While Penn’s children had roles in the film, Hazel did not, yet she still attended to support her father’s work.
What captivated everyone’s attention was Hazel’s striking beauty. While some observers note her resemblance to her mother, many agree she takes after her handsome father, making it no surprise that she is herself a striking young woman with blue eyes and blonde hair.
She was spotted wearing a pale yellow lace gown paired with black Mary Jane shoes. Her makeup was subtle, and her hair was elegantly pulled back into a ponytail—truly a picture of grace!
It was evident that Moder was proud of his daughter, spending the entire evening by her side.
Whether Hazel or her siblings harbor aspirations to pursue careers in the film industry remains uncertain, as their parents prefer not to discuss their children publicly and maintain their privacy. This is typical of Roberts, known for her down-to-earth nature despite her considerable wealth, estimated at around $250 million.
Hazel and her brothers had small roles in Roberts’ film “Mother’s Day” back in 2016.
Reflecting on her children, Roberts shared with Harper’s Bazaar in 2018:
“I don’t think they will ever fully grasp (my fame). I remember one time when they were starting to realize it, and they said, ‘You’re famous?’ And I replied, ‘I think many people might have seen the movie I’m in or know who I am.’”
She then spoke about the challenges children face today, adding, “It’s different from when I might have said to my mom, ‘Mom, you don’t know what it’s like to be a teenager today,’ even though she probably did. Danny and I really don’t know what it’s like to be a teenager today. Sometimes my kids ask me things, and I just tell them, ‘I’m going to say no, and I’ll look into it because I’m not even sure what we’re talking about.’”
It’s clear that Roberts and Moder make an incredible couple and are exemplary parents.
