Military: Ukraine advances up to 1.4 km in Berdiansk direction

In a resolute counteroffensive, Ukrainian forces have made significant progress in the Berdiansk direction, as reported by the Tavria operational-strategic group’s press center on July 24.
Valerii Shershen, the spokesperson of the Tavria group, revealed the successful advancement of Ukrainian assault units, penetrating enemy lines to a depth ranging from 350 meters to an impressive 1.4 kilometers. However, the battle remains fierce in Pervomairoske, and the situation in the Melitopol direction has seen no significant changes.
Undeterred, Ukrainian troops have displayed their tenacity, meticulously demining the reclaimed territory while fortifying their newly acquired positions. Their readiness for further offensive actions is evident, as they solidify their gains and prepare to face the enemy head-on.
Russian forces have suffered significant casualties along the southern front line, with 63 soldiers reported killed, 110 wounded, and four captured in the past day alone. The Ukrainian troops have dealt a decisive blow, destroying 21 units of Russian equipment, according to the spokesperson.
Hanna Maliar, Deputy Defense Minister, shared updates on the territorial liberation achieved by Ukrainian forces. In the past week, they have secured 12.7 square kilometers in the southern front line, adding to the remarkable total of 192.1 square kilometers reclaimed during the counteroffensive in the south.
In the east, progress has been made along the southern flank of Bakhmut, with Ukrainian forces liberating an additional 4 square kilometers in that sector during the same week, Maliar informed.
Despite facing an aggressive push from Russian forces in the Kupiansk direction, aiming to breach Ukrainian lines at the Oskil River, the defenders have shown unwavering resolve, holding their positions with determination.

Amidst these developments, Ukraine has employed controversial cluster munitions, receiving recognition from the White House for their effective and appropriate use. National Security Spokesman John Kirby asserted on July 21 that the cluster munitions have proven impactful, contributing to the ongoing efforts against Russia.
As Ukraine continues to assert its territorial integrity and defend its sovereignty, the conflict remains complex and highly charged. The strategic use of cluster munitions adds a layer of contention to the already intense situation, sparking discussions and debates about the ethical implications of such weaponry.
In the face of adversity, the Ukrainian forces’ commitment to pushing back against the aggressors is a testament to their resilience and determination. As the world watches these events unfold, the struggle for territorial control and the pursuit of peace and stability remain at the forefront of the global stage. The fate of the region hangs in the balance, and the international community closely monitors the situation, hoping for a resolution that upholds the principles of justice, sovereignty, and the well-being of all affected communities.
