Heartbreaking: Ohio Father Admits to Killing His Three Young Sons

An Ohio father has been accused of fatally shooting his three young sons and wounding their mother, according to police. Chad Doerman, 32, is accused of planning the killings and lining up his sons aged 7, 4, and 3 years before executing them with a rifle. The daughter fled the home and called for help while screaming that her father was killing everyone.

The Clermont County Sheriff’s Office received two 911 calls; one from the mother who was screaming that “her babies had been shot,” and another from a passing motorist who said a girl was running down the street saying her father was killing people. Responding deputies found the three boys outside the house with gunshot wounds. They tried to save their lives, but the children died at the scene.

The mother, who was outside the home, had suffered a gunshot wound to her hand and was transported to a hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening. The boys’ names have not been released.

Doerman was found sitting on a stoop at the home and was taken into custody without incident. He has been charged with three counts of aggravated murder, and his bail has been set at $20 million. Officials have not released a motive behind the shootings.

This tragedy has left the community in grief, and grief counselors were available at Monroe Elementary in the New Richmond Exempted Village School District, where the children attended school.

The Clermont County Prosecutor Mark Tekulve said, “This is by far the most sickening, horrifying crime I have seen. I can only imagine the terror these little boys felt and experienced as their father — their protector — was murdering them.”

As the investigation remains ongoing, authorities are reviewing the case in its entirety with the Clermont County Prosecutor’s Office for presentation to the Grand Jury for consideration of additional charges. Our hearts go out to the family and friends of the victims during this difficult time.
