Former Vanity Fair editor-in-chief Graydon Carter Raises Concerns About Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Relationship with the Royal Family

In a recent interview, Graydon Carter, former editor-in-chief of Vanity Fair, expressed his belief that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will eventually regret their decision to distance themselves from the royal family. He stated, “That will come back to haunt them at a certain point. They have no cousins that they see, or uncles or aunts, and they don’t see grandparents, except for one.” While Harry did have recent encounters with his cousins and some extended family members at the Coronation, Carter pointed out that such meetings are infrequent. He may be referring to Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, who often spends time with the couple and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Carter also commented on the couple’s choice to reside in Montecito, emphasizing the lack of activities in the area. He remarked, “It’s a 40-minute drive from L.A. There can’t be many kids there because young families can’t afford it.” In addition, Carter did not hold back in expressing his opinion about Harry and Meghan’s level of attention, stating that their unavailability is their greatest asset. He believes that being excessively present in the public eye can lead to fatigue and diminishing interest. Carter added, “I think they’ve made every wrong move you can make.”

According to sources, the royal family is concerned about Harry’s upcoming testimony in the phone hacking case against Mirror Group Newspapers, which will bring him back to the U.K. in mid-June. Harry has previously testified in similar cases, accusing the royal family of withholding information and making secret agreements with publications to protect their image. The family fears that Harry could reveal further secrets during his court appearance. One source stated, “They are nervous about what Harry could ultimately reveal, and rightly so. His book was bad enough. He could elaborate more on the story, planting claims in court. Was the whole family leaking dirt on Harry and Meghan to keep the spotlight off themselves?” Another source added, “He still feels betrayed by his family. This could be Harry’s moment to turn the screw just a little bit tighter on all of them.”

The anticipation surrounding Harry’s court appearance is causing significant unease within the royal family, as they anxiously await the potential revelations he may make. The upcoming legal proceedings serve as a pivotal moment that could further strain the already complicated relationship between Prince Harry and his relatives.
