Idaho Mom’s Trial Takes a Dramatic Turn as DNA Analyst Identifies Hair on Adhesive as a Match

As per the latest updates from the Idaho courtroom, a DNA analyst has testified that a piece of hair found on an adhesive has been identified as a match for Lori Vallow, a mom accused of killing her two youngest children and also charged in connection to the death of her current husband’s late wife. Keeley Coleman, a senior DNA analyst at Bode Technology in Virginia, testified that she received the hair attached to an adhesive, along with other pieces of evidence and three DNA profiles from Vallow, her former friend Melanie Gibb, and Ryan. The hair on the adhesive matched Vallow’s DNA, she said.

This revelation is a crucial piece of evidence in the case against Vallow, whose children, Tylee Ryan, who was almost 17, and JJ Vallow, 7, went missing in September 2019. The bodies of the children were later found on the Daybell’s Idaho property. The official cause of death for JJ was asphyxia from a plastic bag being put over his head and duct tape over his mouth, while Tylee was declared a victim of “homicide by unspecified means,” Ada County Coroner Dr. Garth Warren said Wednesday.

The investigation into the murders has been ongoing for several months, and the evidence against Vallow has been mounting. Earlier in the trial, investigators revealed that they had sent a hair found on the duct tape wrapped around JJ’s body for testing. The results of this testing were not revealed until Monday when Coleman took the stand.

The testimony given by Coleman has left the courtroom in a state of shock and awe. The probability of randomly selecting a random individual in relation to that profile 1 is 71 billion,” Coleman testified per the East Idaho News. This statement has left many people wondering how such a small piece of evidence could hold such an enormous amount of weight in the case against Vallow.

The revelation of the DNA evidence has added to the confusion surrounding the case. The case has been fraught with twists and turns, with Vallow’s defense team repeatedly questioning the validity of the evidence against her. However, the prosecution has remained steadfast, stating that the evidence speaks for itself and that the guilty party must be held accountable for their actions.

Outside the courthouse, people have been following the trial with great interest. Some are speculating about the motive behind the murders, while others are expressing their shock at the brutality of the crimes. “I just can’t believe that a mother could do this to her own children,” one bystander remarked.

The case against Vallow is far from over, and there is no doubt that more twists and turns lie ahead. However, the revelation of the DNA evidence has given the prosecution a powerful tool in their efforts to bring Vallow to justice. The trial will continue in the coming weeks, and it remains to be seen what other revelations will come to light.

In the meantime, the families of the victims are left to mourn the loss of their loved ones. The murders have left a deep scar on the community, and many are still struggling to come to terms with what has happened. As the trial continues, they will be watching closely, hoping for justice to be served.
