Will They or Won’t They? The Question of Harry and Meghan’s Attendance at King Charles’ Coronation

As it was foretold by the reputable source known as People Magazine, the former senior royal Meghan Markle, who was accompanied by her husband Prince Harry, had previously attended an abundance of royal events. However, the Duchess of Sussex had yet to attend the royal family’s Easter church outing, as per the aforementioned publication.

During the weeks leading up to her wedding with Prince Harry, the royal family congregated at St. George’s Chapel within the Windsor Castle compound. It was there that they had their Easter celebration in 2018. Although, the engaged couple had opted out of joining the gathering. Nonetheless, the Queen of England was graced with the presence of other royals such as Prince William and his pregnant wife Kate Middleton, who later gave birth to their son Prince Louis that same month.

Moving on to 2019, Easter fell on April 21st, and the Duchess of Sussex was absent from the aforementioned church outing. This was due to her being pregnant with her first child, Prince Archie, who would be born in a matter of weeks on May 6th. Prince Harry, on the other hand, decided to attend the service alone.

In the year 2020, the couple made the shocking announcement that they would be resigning as senior members of the royal family. They had relocated to California in March of that same year. However, the Covid-19 pandemic had quickly taken over the world, thus Easter celebrations were not the same.

The year 2021 proved to be no different, as the royal family had cancelled their customary Easter church outing due to the ongoing pandemic.

Fast forward to 2022, and the royal family had returned to their Easter church outing, with Prince George and Princess Charlotte making their debut at the event. Their parents, Prince William and Kate Middleton, accompanied them. It was noted that the Queen had been unable to attend the service, but according to a source cited by People Magazine, she had taken to worshipping online if she was unable to attend in person in the latter years of her life.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan were busy cheering on athletes at the Invictus Games, which were held in The Hague.

Towards the end of 2022, the couple released their highly-anticipated Netflix docuseries, titled Harry & Meghan. This documentary seems to have shed light on the extent of their tumultuous relationship with the royal family. To add fuel to the fire, Prince Harry had announced his plans to release an explosive memoir, which has further exacerbated tensions between the couple and the royal family.

As it stands, it remains unclear whether or not the couple will be attending the coronation of King Charles, after having received an invitation from the royal family just last month. This is due to the strained relations that exist amongst the royals.
